Whether one is a professional artist or an hobbyist, or somewhere in between, if you have work that is portable, invariably someone will ask "What are you making?"

Well, it isn't always that easy. Take this piece for instance.

The longest piece is about 3 feet long and only 3 inches wide. They are part of the freeform "rug" that I am making as part of my thesis show. I say "rug" in quotes because the rug is more conceptual than functional. I'm not willing to explain that just yet, but I will at some point.
